Ford Component Manufacturing and Cottam Brush are just two of the 90 plus exhibitors expected to take part in Oktoberfest, which takes place on Wednesday, October 19that the XCEL Centre, Newton Aycliffe - www.durhamoktoberfest.org.uk

Now in its fourth year, Oktoberfest is organised by the private sector to provide manufacturing and engineering companies with the chance to showcase the range of skills and services which give these industries such a good reputation.  One such platform is the ‘meet the buyer’ programme where companies can book one to one appointments with buyers from a range of industries including Light and Power, Defence, Automotive and Consumer Electronics.

Regular exhibitors at the annual event are Ford Component Manufacturing who can boast over 100 years’ experience in the precision machining and pressing of components for the aerospace, defence and industrial sectors.    Managing Director, Mark Podmore said; “Our order book is at an all time high at the moment which is a fantastic position to be in.  So, for us this year’s Oktoberfest will focus on recruitment, networking and celebrating our recent award-winning achievements.”

“We also want to show our support for an event that is widely regarded as extremely beneficial in offering a wealth of opportunities to the manufacturing and engineering industry.  I would encourage any South Tyneside manufacturing company to find out more about how the event can help them,” he said.

Ben Cottam, Managing Director, Cottam Brush will be taking his company to Oktoberfest for the third time.  He said “We design and manufacture brushware and bespoke brushware for a huge range of clients, globally.  We find that Oktoberfest is the ideal event to promote what we do, it’s definitely worth taking the time and effort to attend.”

“Personally, I enjoy going as a visitor and have made some excellent contacts at previous shows.  Anyone looking to meet new contacts should consider a visit to Oktoberfest,” said Ben.

Event organisers recently announced that Hitachi Rail Europe (Hitachi) and Merchant Place Developments (MPD) are also set to participate.

Hitachi and MPD wish to take the opportunity to bring the audience of exhibitors and event visitors up to date with the development of the Intercity Express Programme and to give initial indications of the potential supply chain requirements that may arise at various stages of the project timeline between late 2012 - when construction at Amazon Park is due to commence – and early 2016 – when the first customer delivery will occur.

Both organisations will have exhibition stands where other exhibitors and visitors can discuss the project with company representatives and both will give short presentations following the official opening.

With over 75% of stands already allocated, exhibitors are urged to book their space as soon as possible.  Anyone interested in finding out more about how to get involved in Oktoberfest should contact Engineering Clusters County Durham on 01207 585 816, email info@durhamoktoberfest.org.uk or visit the website at www.durhamoktoberfest.org.uk
